Artist Statement
I create mixed-media data visualization sculptures that bridge the tangible and the abstract. My work transforms governmental and personal data- graphs, texts, and statistics- into vivid, physical expressions of color and form. These sculptures juxtapose sharp, brightly painted surfaces with hidden layers of meaning, inviting viewers to uncover truths beneath their playful neon hues.

The process of creation is integral to my work. I translate digital data into physical forms through painting, tufting, and fabricating. Moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements, my pieces challenge perceptions of depth and reality, creating an optical illusion that disorients and intrigues. By mixing media and experimenting with transparency and reflection, I abstract the abstraction, asking viewers to consider what is revealed and what remains concealed.

Rooted in my exploration of the Asian-American experience, I play with contradiction- bright colors masking hidden tensions, sharp edges softening into familiar forms. Through these layered works, I spark conversations about home, security, and the systems we trust by creating an environment where data becomes tactile and personal, encouraging introspection and dialogue.
